Q: O Draconian Devil, Oh lame saint = Leonardo Davinci, The Mona Lisa? A: Yes, and a whole host of other possibilities too.

Page 103 of the Da Vinci Code (Brown, D., 2004) states that O Draconian Devil, Oh lame saint forms a "perfect anagram" of Leonardo Da Vinci, The Mona Lisa. This is absolutely correct and in the book's movement towards a sense of believability, it is a fantastic parlor trick.

The only problem that stands in the way of true believability is the fact that Dan Brown had a bit of help from a software program called Anagram Genius. Anagram Genius claims that Dan Brown used their software application to generate the anagrams in the Da Vinci Code (Anagramgenius.com, 2006).

We downloaded a demo of Anagram Genius and were quickly able to generate several hundred anagrams ourselves. A few of them for Leonardo Da Vinci. The Mona Lisa. were:

Salivation and heroical demon
Sainthood and lovlier maniac
Draconian halo dominates evil
Vacillate on dishonored mania
I'd carve on an idol a hostile man
